About PPS Speakup
The aim of this website is to enable parents and carers of children with disabilities living in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to get involved and have their say on matters which impact on them and their families. We believe that service planning and development works best when it is informed and led by service users – those who use services generally know what works best for them!
Different sections of the website deal with various current areas of consultation and participation between parents/carers and service providers.
Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) is the government’s programme to transform services for disabled children and their families. It is jointly delivered by the Department of Children, Schools and families (DCSF) and the Department of Health (DH).
Nottinghamshire has two Pathfinder Programmes for this work, Short Breaks and Childcare Accessibility, both of which were launched in 2008. Nottingham City Short Breaks Programme starts April 2009.
