Children with Complex Health Needs

Aim

To ensure equitable access to services by the continued development of a wide range of short break services to meet the needs of children with complex health needs, those requiring moving and handling and children with palliative care needs across Nottinghamshire.

Objective

1. Map current access, services and gaps in Nottinghamshire including the independent sector.

2. Analyse local and national data sets on the increasing numbers of children with these types of need.

3. Analyse cost and benefit of different local models of service provision.

4. Make recommendations to Project Reference Group including types of model to be adopted, by December 2008.

Resources

Allocated through the pathfinder budget 2008/09 - not identified but resources available for participation.

Membership of Group

At least two parents whose children either use current services or have in the past, representation from the Caudwell House Caring 4 Families, Children’s Centre and one representative from either Rainbows or Bluebell Children’s Hospice.
